CLASS TIMES, FEES AND MANUALS

EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2009,  CANDIDATES FOR AGENTS LICENSE ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE 40 HOURS OF EDUCATION - SEE INFORMATION BELOW. YOU MUST OBTAIN THE NEW KAPLAN MANUAL AND MISSISSIPPI LAW DIGEST. 

• Prior to attending the review, you must thoroughly study the NEW NATIONAL Property and Casualty License Exam Manual and separate Mississippi Law Digest by Kaplan. 
• PIA CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION WILL REMAIN AT 24 HOURS. AGENT CANDIDATES WILL BE ALLOWED 16 HOURS OF SELF-STUDY TO COMPLETE THE NEW 40 HOUR REQUIREMENT. HOWEVER, YOU MUST PASS A 60 QUESTION EXAM AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS IN ORDER TO GET CREDIT FOR THESE ADDITIONAL HOURS.  IF NECESSARY, RETAKES WILL BE GIVEN ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON FOLLOWING CLASS.
• Property and Casualty and Life, Health and Accident manuals are available from PIA for $49.00 plus mailing of $8.00.  They also may be picked up at the PIA office.  The Exam Simulator for the Web is also available from PIA for $37.00 (add $2.00 for mailing). These may be ordered by calling the PIA office.  Simulator codes will be available at classes.

• The Jackson class is held at Holmes Community College, Ridgeland.
• The Gulfport/Saucier class is held at Success Civic Center, Saucier.
• Our integrated "Google Maps" provides "one-click" access to maps, driving directions and more!
• Our own set of "driver-friendly"directions are available in the "Public Documents" section of this website, as well as a list of suggested hotels in the Jackson/Ridgeland area. 

LATE ARRIVALS AND EARLY DEPARTURES WILL NOT RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION  AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

• Adjusters will attend the first two days of class.  Adjusters should arrive on the first day of class by 8:45 a.m.  Class will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
• AGENT candidates should arrive at 8:15 a.m. Testing for 16 hours of self study will begin promptly at 8:30. If necessary, retakes of the self study exam will be offered on Thursday after class. 

THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE REGISTRATION TO TAKE THE STATE EXAM.  YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE STATE EXAM WITH TESTING SERVICES, INC.   Your test registration must be mailed in time to reach Testing Services at least 3 days prior to the exam. There is a link to Testing Services on the "Links" section of this web site.  YOU MUST HAVE PROOF OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO TAKE THE EXAM.  IF YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR SS CARD, CHECK WITH PIA OR TESTING SERVICES ABOUT OTHER ACCEPTED FORMS.
